v1.0 Update Announcement


Hi everyone! I have some exciting news to share with you. I've compiled all the feedback and suggestions I received from everyone and selected the features and changes I think are most important and add the most value to the gameplay. There were a lot of great suggestions which I would love to implement (maybe at a later update...) but these are the features which I think will add the most value to the game in it's current state.

v1.0 Headlining Features

  • Expanding the desert outpost map with new areas which the player will have to spend points to reach
  • Overhauling the spawning system so that enemies spawn throughout the round instead of all at once. Additionally there will be more spawn points added so that it will be less predictable where the zombies will come from.
  • Increasing the movement and attack speed of the enemies to make them a greater threat
  • Adding (at least) 2 new enemy variants, one of which will be a mini boss that spawns every few rounds
  • Adding a melee attack to the player
  • PERKS, such as faster reloading... I don't have too many ideas for perks yet so please leave me some perk suggestions if you have any
  • and lastly, MORE GUNS, at least 3 new guns

Other Requested Features

There were of course a lot of other great features suggested which I would love to implement but it seems unlikely that they'll make it into the 1.0 update. Perhaps if enough people want them I'll consider releasing a follow up update (v1.1) which could include some of these features. Either way, if I have time to implement them in the 1.0 update, I will:

  • Hands for the player model and realistic reload animations
  • More varied enemy run animations
  • Power ups dropped by enemies, such as ammo refills
  • Critical shoots
  • Night time mode
  • Full Controller Support

As of today, the projected release date for the 1.0 update is January 10, 2020 but this is not a firm release date. Since I'm a one man show, and currently in university, I'll announce a more definitive release date sometime in early January. Until then, keep an eye on my twitch where I'll be streaming the development process of this update!
